The dreamcatcher is a sacred symbol that various Native American tribes used as a mother’s blessing for their children for peace and positive energy.Legend says that while the bad dreams are trapped in the webbed portion of the dream catcher, the good dreams trickle down the hanging feathers and beads to soothe and calm the person sleeping or to protect infants. The dreamcatcher may also include sacred items such as certain feathers or beads or other items that symbolize hope and healing.
In this workshop we will create our own dreamcatchers using doilies and wooden hoop and various other materials. Students are encourated to bring any additional items of meaning they may want to add to their creation. STUDENTS MUST BRING THEIR OWN PIECE OF WOOD or DOWEL of some sort. (can purchase from Bed, Bath n’ Beyond) to string your dreamcather on to.
**Lights can be purchased during workshop**
Tea will be served and soothing native american flute music will be played.
